Don’t forget! Pickup at
The City Kitch – West End
2200 Thrift Road
Wednesday 25 Nov
5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and soon we’ll be indulging in a few favorite American pastimes: overeating, watching football, spending quality time with family and dear friends, eating some more, snoozing on the sofa … and then griping about said dysfunctional family and annoying friends, tight clothes, and the call that blew the game for the Lions!

Ah yes, the beginning of holidays – a cocktail of anticipation, anxiety, joy, pathos, reconciliation, chaos, and a little more chaos. Whether your family is crazy or comfortable and whether your experience is more like Friendsgiving (Malin Åkerman, 2020), Funny People (Adam Sandler, 2009), Nobody’s Fool (Paul Newman, 1994), or Home for the Holidays (Holly Hunter, 1995), it can all be a bit – how shall I say it – “much!”

If you need a little help putting out a spread but don’t want to lose the home-cooked quality, we have a limited offering to the rescue! This is our first Thanksgiving, so we’re going to provide two opportunities to give you a hand in the kitchen.

FIRST, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with ✔ roasted Bell and Evans Turkey breast and thigh meat with turkey-sage gravy ✔ fall farmers market chopped salad with bibb lettuce, lacinto kale, radicchio,  pomegranate, apples, almonds, dried cranberries, fresh cheese, and organic apple cider vinaigrette ✔ Parker House rolls ✔ sharp cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese with cavatappi pasta, sharp cheddar, garlic breadcrumb, and herbs ✔ stewed green beans with bay leaves, smoked bacon, and thyme ✔ roasted sweet potato casserole with fall spiced streusel, and a touch of maple ✔ brioche and chestnut stuffing ✔ and last: pumpkin pie tarts with sweet cream, sea salt and graham cracker. We’re pretty sure you’re going to have some leftovers. Fabulous!

SECOND, more of Bíga Sáma’s lasagna – either to substitute for traditional turkey day fare or to give people a change of pace with minimal effort over the long weekend. We first offered this for our election night comfort food special, and people really liked it. So this is a do-over (but not left-overs) of a customer favorite.
