Something Fun: A Playful Yet Elevated Take On Pastries!
One of the cool things about being hyper-local and diggin’ on the farm to table vibe is the opportunity to meet other very cool people. Case in point: Becca Rankin, who is the proud proprietor of Tart Pastries.
Tart Pastries is Becca’s gig focused on seasonal desserts and bright, balanced flavors. Becca graduated from A-B Tech in Asheville with an Associate’s Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts and proceeded to work in bakeries and restaurants around the Charlotte region. She has been the pastry chef at The Goodyear House since their opening. Inspired by her love of citrus, Becca launched Tart in 2020 and began spreading joy with her cakes, French macarons, pies, and cookies.
Outside of the kitchen, Becca loves spending time with her dog Leia, taking care of her insane amount of plants, browsing cute raccoon videos on Instagram, and eating ice cream sundaes while watching her favorite tv shows. Nobody knows how she stays fit whilst eating said sundaes (or nibbling on crumbs from her pastry creations).
Why am I telling you this? Well I’m glad you asked!
First, we want to be able to shine a light on people, food, and food people when we notice something special. We gotta spread the love, and we think you’ll love Becca and Tart Pastries.
Second, we’re collaborating with Becca this Friday 29 October when she will prepare a special dessert for delivery with our 3-course meal. Becca is doing individual pavlovas with a cream cheese mousse, chai poached pears, and hazelnut praline crunch. We’re all in for a very special treat.
