So what, exactly, is sexy food anyway? Well, depending on who you ask, it could be a lot of things. Around here, we think of foods that remind us of the beach, ocean waves, sand castles, bathing suits, and skin’s summer glow. Whether you’re into body surfing, flying kites, or skim boarding, spring is here, and summer ain’t far behind.
This spring, we’ve already seen softshell crab, which will continue as long as we can find them – and on the menu with bao buns and salad as a first course for Wednesday and Thursday (the 28th and 29th). Wednesday’s grouper main course is beautiful.
Jumbo lump crab is a regular favorite and makes glorious crab cakes on Mondays. Fresh south east shrimp will be along soon too. Chef Sam will think of something spring-y for dessert to wrap it up.
Keep an eye out for fresh strawberries, ramps, new lettuces, hot-house tomatoes, and even green tomatoes will all make appearances. Order for a spring picnic with your sweetie, pack a picnic basket with a blanket and a checkered table cloth, and upgrade your picnic with something special.
